Another photogate/precision timer project...
This is a series picked from the 40 or so shots that I took of the milk drop. I could have put a few more in but it would make the final image to tall. From the impact shot to the last shot 235 milliseconds have elapsed. Note that the images in the series are not evenely spaced in the time domain, the time between them increases as the sequence progresses. Also note that this is not the same drop... each shot was taken seperately with different drops, hence the subtle light differences etc... Thankfully the setup with the timer is reasonable repeatable... if you dial in the same trigger time twice you will pretty much get the same shot.
Have a look at my previous deviations for other water drop and macro pics
lovely! very good! artistic! perfect shadows/light! good work! nice framing! could use a discrete title at the bottom, but not necessarily. I'd like to see the picture even taller or put together to a .gif
but it's perfect. no change needed!

very cool - i really like the way it progresses, I think it might have been nicer to know that it was the same drop, but maybe thats too hard to do well eh?
I've always wanted to do this kind of photography (ultra-short-spaced sequences or time-lapse or multi-exposure with multiple flashes), but I don't have the equipment. Time to ask for a raise and go shopping
